Exotic Shorthair Cat

The Trouble and Trix Team

Exotic Shorthair Cat

The Exotic body is short but very thick with thick legs and a short, thick neck. Their boning is heavy but the tail is short and their ears are small. The head is round with large, round eyes. When viewed in profile, their face is flat and the nose changes direction so that mostly nose leather is seen.

The coat on an Exotic Shorthair is thick and plush.

The breed comes in all 96 colours of the Persian, these include black, white, cream, blue, himalayan and tortoiseshell with the appropriately matched eye colour.

The Exotic is a placid cat that exhibits bursts of energy from time to time. They are generally good with children and are not as boisterous as many shorthair breeds.

They are quite happy to be left at home on their own and therefore make ideal house cats.

Although easy to keep in condition compared with its longhaired cousins, the Exotic Shorthair’s coat still needs some attention. Regular grooming will keep dead hair from clogging up the coat and from being deposited on the furniture.
